Hollie took this picture of Sushi while she was visiting. it's kinda creepy that you can see her eyeball, but I really like the wiskers. I had to look at this picture several times before deciding that I like it.

raspberry swirl cheesecake

Mom and I made cheesecake while she was here - we even made the little mini cupcakes. I made twice the raspberry puree as it calls for so mine looks a lot more pink than Martha Stewart's does. the cake turned out great. we had to cook it longer than the recipe calls for but I think that's true for all cheesecakes in different ovens. any it was yummy!

big snow tonight

so this really snuck up on me. I was outside in the yard for a while this afternoon and it was beautiful. Then Aaron called a few minutes ago to tell me that he and Andrew were stuck in traffic, wouldn't be going skiing, and he was driving to Isaquah to get chains for the car tires, and then driving him home, instead of going snowboarding like they had originally planned. I looked outside and it's all full of snow! how did that happen?!? I took a picture but at that moment my camera battery ran out so you'll have to live with this satellite radar image (courtesy of weather underground) until it charges again. I hope Andrew brings me home something to eat! ....mmmmm pizza.....

Ice Wine

I don't generally like ice wines as much as reds, but we belong to a wine club with the little shop down the street, and in November our white was Kiona Red Mountain Chenin Blanc Ice Wine (2004). best I've ever tasted. Even Andrew had 2 glasses, and he doesn't like sweet wines at all. I highly recommend it.

my mama is going home today

Mom has been visiting for the last week and today she goes home. here's a pic of her with a magazine and 2 dogs to keep her warm. I don't think she's thrilled with me for taking this picture...
