more Cabo pics

Andrew enjoying his trip in the jeep
this beach was completely empty. not a single person. except us.
me and Andrew on the beach
there were shrines at the sides of the roads the whole way to the town.
The town, Todo Santos, was a beach town with a strong artisan community. wasn't the tacky souvenirs that you saw in Cabo - but actually nice things.
plates
this is the street in Todo Santos
this is what the stores looked like. they called them galleras
this plaza had a mural of the history of mexico
walking around the town

one of the galleries had an incredible mosaic - this isn't the whole thing -it was enormous!
this made me laugh
Hotel California
tacos anyone??
a cactus flower getting ready to bloom
our friend Bay, who works with Andrew, hosted a party for the team at his dad's house, which was just outside Todo Santos. it was an amazing place.
pretty flowers

one of the gates to a house next to Bay's dad's.

ok that's it for now - more to come...

no turkeys!

I was only away for 1 day and Andrew broke one of the most important rules of the house. If you have ever smelled dogs after they have eaten turkey, you know what I'm talking about.

Cabo Trip 08

our hotel room
the hotel pool had a pirate ship in the middle of it. this is where we had most of our parties
Aaron's mustache for the mustache contest. he won sexiest - he was really workin those shorty short jean cut-offs
Keith's mustache was my favorite, but he didn't win anything. he's a faker.
Downtown Cabo had some great restaurants. This is Crazy Lobster - $10 a lobster tail - that's CRAZY!
you can see the crazy in Jeff's eyes.
Andrew and Charlie in front of Poncho's. awesome food.
and a cool mariachi band!
for Sarah - a chicken topiary
interesting choice in clothing store name

the Valve Mexican buffet on the beach
at the Mexican buffet - Andrew eating a tamale, I'm drinking a margarita
sunset view of the arch from the hotel beach
we drove to Bay's party with Joe and Celia in the Jeep.
Driving in the back of a jeep is windy. when we stopped, I couldn't get my fingers through my hair. it's cold back there too, even if it's 90 degrees outside.
Valve hosted a kids party on the beach, and they had a leopard kitten for them to get their pictures taken. The kitten was biting everyone, so they took him over by the pool for some 'alone time' - that's when he bit up the handler - a lot. I was able to get close enough to get some great pics. leopard kittens do not make good pets.
this is at Ladies Night - Reagan is posing at the famous CaboWabo bar in a little area where a group of us had a small 'private' section of the bar. this skeezy guy came over and just stood there - for like 1/2 hour, just staring at all of us. you can see him in the background, probably staring at someone's chest.
Zip Lining across the canyon in the desert. here's the map of our tour

Hey Brian - I didn't know you were going to Cabo with us -- hey that's not BRIAN!
me and Aubrey enjoying some shade by the pool

more pics to come...

the scenic route

the blue line indicates our route to Cabo. it was a great flight - a small stop-over in San Fransisco, then on to our tropical paradise courtesy of Valve. sadly the trip back was not so good.

the red line indicates our route back to Seattle. you may notice 'day 1' and 'day 2' along the route - that is because it took use 2 full days to get back. that's right, we left Cabo around 9:00am Saturday, and arrived in Seattle at 4:30pm Sunday. we're back now, although tired and cranky. Special thanks to Paul and Jen for watching our dogs for the week, to Sarah and Charlie for taking care of them last night and today, for Mona for your generous gift of a phone for the trip. And extra special thanks for American Airlines for not getting your planes re-wired 6 months ago. pictures soon - I promise!
